2026-08-04 ASRock Industrial Achieves the World’s First O-PAS™ Certification with iEP-5010G

Taipei, Taiwan (Aug 4, 2026) – ASRock Industrial today announced that its iEP-5010G-010 industrial IoT Controller has become the world’s first product to achieve The Open Group’s O-PAS™ Certification. This achievement represents a significant milestone in the advancement of open, interoperable, and secure process automation, demonstrating ASRock Industrial's commitment to delivering innovative edge computing platforms that support the industry's transition toward open automation architectures. By enabling standards-based integration across multi-vendor environments, the iEP-5010G-010 helps customers reduce vendor lock-in, simplify system integration, and accelerate digital transformation in industrial applications.

The iEP-5010G-010 has achieved O-PAS™ Certification under the O-PAS™ Certification Program for O-PAS™ Standard 2nd Edition, conforming to the OSM-003 Redfish® System Management Profile and the PP-003 Regulatory Physical Platform Profile requirements. The product was independently verified by Enterprise Transformation Partners and IECEE. In addition, the iEP-5010G-010 has achieved IEC 62443-4-2 certification for Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) components, providing a strong cybersecurity foundation to support O-PAS™ Certification. The O-PAS™ Certification confirms the platform’s support for standardized in-band system management through Redfish®, enabling hardware management, OS information, metrics, and DCN visibility. In addition, compliance with PP-003 confirms that the platform meets the physical requirements for regulatory control devices, providing a secure, interoperable, and scalable foundation for process automation systems based on O-PAS™ Standard.

The adoption of the O-PAS Standard is accelerating as process industries seek greater flexibility, interoperability, and long-term sustainability. By reducing reliance on proprietary technologies and simplifying system integration, upgrades, and lifecycle management, the O-PAS Standard enables a more open and flexible automation ecosystem. With its O-PAS Certification, the iEP-5010G-010 provides a standardized foundation for open and interoperable process automation systems. Designed for harsh industrial environments, the rugged, fanless Industrial IoT Controller is powered by the Intel® Atom® x6425RE processor, featuring a wide 6–36V DC power input and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C to deliver reliable edge computing performance for process automation and a broad range of industrial applications.

“Achieving the world’s first product certified under the O-PAS™ Certification Program reflects ASRock Industrial’s commitment to advancing open industrial automation through the adoption of industry standards and continuous innovation,” said James Lee, Chairman of ASRock Industrial. “As industrial infrastructure continues to evolve toward more open and interoperable architectures, we remain committed to delivering reliable edge computing platforms that help customers simplify system integration, modernize critical operations, and build future-ready automation systems.”

Aneil Ali, the Open Process Automation Forum Director at The Open Group, commented, “The O-PAS Certification Program is a significant milestone for the process automation industry and the Open Process Automation Forum. From the outset, end users emphasized the importance of independent testability over self-declared conformance, and O-PAS product certification delivers exactly that.” As the first product certified under the O-PAS™ Certification Program, the ASRock Industrial iEP-5010G-010 demonstrates compliance through independent verification and provides a trusted, standards-based foundation for interoperable process automation systems.

This milestone further expands ASRock Industrial’s portfolio of internationally certified industrial computing platforms and reinforces the company’s commitment to supporting open industry standards, secure edge computing, and next-generation automation technologies. By enabling customers to deploy interoperable, standards-based industrial computing platforms, ASRock Industrial continues to help accelerate the digital transformation of critical industrial infrastructure.
